Questions from Meg:
#1 – Generate some random items and write a short paragraph story including them!
My items: A bottle of syrup, a pearl necklace, a pair of sunglasses, and a can of beans.
…this seems incredibly dirty. :O I….I don’t think I can write anything not totally dirty.
#2 – What is the strangest dream you can remember?
Oooh, this is a good one! I actually wrote this one down, but I can’t find the file on my computer. It involved Olympic hockey, Jennifer Aniston being a midwife and helping one of the Olympic hockey players give birth in the locker room (it was a women’s game), and Habs player Brendan Gallagher bragging about not only being the baby’s father, but getting to have sex with a woman.
I’m not sure what this says about my subconscious, but it’s probably bad.
#3 – If you could live inside a video game as an NPC, which would you choose?
Probably the Pokémon series. I know some folks think that NPCs in those games have nothing to do, but I’d like to think I’d be a pretty kickass Gym Leader or Elite Four member.
#4 – What is your biggest pet peeve?
I’d have to say people who are proud of their ignorance. I find people who refuse to educate themselves and proud of it to be incredibly infuriating and sad. Being proud of your stupidity, refusing to accept basic facts (especially in regards to science), and spreading falsehoods, whether in person or via the internet, makes me think you are absolute human garbage. Examples of this include anti-vaxxers and creationists. (Sorry not sorry if you fall into one of these categories. 😉 )
#5 – If you had to choose anyone (alive or deceased) to be your roommate, who would you choose?
Uh….nobody! ROOMMATES SUCK. I had more than my fill of roommates in university. I guess if I *had* to live with another human being, it would be my boyfriend, because he is super cute and he makes me food and he is fine with me staying up all night because of my weird work schedule. Otherwise, I’d live alone, or resurrect my dog and live with him.
#6 – What is the last book that you read?
I just finished Adios, Cowboy by Olja Savičević today. The (translated from Croatian) prose was beautiful, but I found the story to be slow moving until the later half of the book.
#7 – If the main character from the last TV show you watched tried to kill you, would they succeed?
My boyfriend and I are currently rewatching King of the Hill for the billionth time. Hank Hill could probably kill me by exploiting either Sweet Lady Propane (creating an explosion or something, though I doubt he would ever do something so unsafe) or my food allergy (pork, which makes me puke blood if I eat it, woo). I might be able to outrun him, but I think he’s about a foot taller than me and 100 pounds heavier than me, so I don’t think I could overpower him. He also has a truck, while I have half of a transit pass (boyfriend and I share) and a 15 year old bike in very sorry shape, so he has a definite advantage in terms of transportation.
#8 – What is something (book, movie, game, etc.) that you will never get bored of?
Classic Simpsons – that’s seasons 3-8, because everyone’s definitions vary. I grew up watching them, I have them on DVD, and my boyfriend and I quote them constantly – like at least once a day.
#9 – If you could have a home built in any style, which would you choose?
I guess I’d have a small cottage or an end unit of a townhouse, with a yard large enough to have a decently-sized vegetable garden and space for a barbecue and outdoor seating. And it would have to be in a city!
#10 – If you could only listen to one musician for the rest of your life, who would you choose?
Oh crap, I have NO IDEA. Either Arcade Fire or the Alan Parsons Project, I suppose. Depeche Mode is another option.
#11 – What do you enjoy most about this community?
I love how supportive and goofy we all are! Our small WordPress/Boolprop Sims community is more focused on telling stories and having fun with the game, instead of making everything look pretty and excessive posing. I know some people are into posing and photoshoots, and that’s great! But I can’t see anyone posting comments on someone’s blog complaining about how their pictures and CC are awful and ugly and blah blah blah. The Sims, at least to me, is such a personal game that playing it however you want to seems to be the only way to enjoy it. Everyone does what they want to with their game, and everyone else is cool with that. It’s great! I hope this makes sense, but it probably doesn’t. 😛
Questions from velikosmijanje:
#1 – Do you really enjoy writing for your blog? Does it ever feel more like an obligation then actual hobby?
I do enjoy writing for my blog, but there are times when it does feel like more of an obligation than a hobby! I need to be in a very specific mindset to work on a blog post, and it’s very dependent on everything else in my life. I’m also very critical of myself, and if I feel like I’m not making my post funny or entertaining enough, I stop working on a post. When things are going well, writing posts is a lot of fun! When things aren’t, it’s a slog, and it can create month-long gaps between posts. Ah well, such is life!
#2 – Do you like reading? What is your favorite genre of books?
I do like reading! I’m just getting back into reading as an adult, and I’m slowly discovering which genres I like and don’t like. I do like science fiction and fantasy, which I’m trying to get more into now. I also really enjoy dystopian fiction – I read Margaret Atwood’s Oryx and Crake earlier this year and really enjoyed it, and I have a couple of other dystopian novels on deck.
#3 – What is your favorite book?
I’m bad at picking one favourite anything. I read Samuel Delany’s Nova when I was in first year of my undergrad degree (seven years ago now! holy crap!) and it’s stuck with me for all these. My favourite books I’ve read this year are The Disaster Artist by Greg Sestero and Tom Bissell, about the making of the legendary bad movie The Room, and Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.
#4 – Out of all the places you visited which is your favorite?
I, uh, haven’t really travelled ever. I’ve never been outside of Canada, not counting twenty minutes on a boat when I was in grade five and we were touring locks on the Great Lakes. Childhood vacations involved visiting my family, which was cool for the first few days and infuriating afterwards. My boyfriend and I have had a couple good trips to Montréal, so I think I’ll go with that even though I am boycotting hockey out of protest this year.
#5 – Rank the continents from which you would most like to visit to least.
- South America
I’m not counting North America, as I live here!
#6 – Are you happy with your current job, career?
Yeah, I’m cool with it. I’m not sure if it’s something I want to do for my entire career, and the hours are strange, but not permanent. I might look for a different job in a few years after I’ve gotten some more experience working in an office, but I’m happy for now.
#7 – If you could make one different choice at any point of your life what would you change?
Either not dating my disgusting abusive ex or getting help with my mental health when I was a teenager. (Dark, I know!)
#8 – What is your favorite food?
POUTINE. I basically only eat it once or twice a year because it’s so hard on my stomach (lactose intolerance and cheese curds don’t mix) but it is SO GOOD when I do!
#9 – Do you have any phobias?
Being completely alone in the world with no friends or family around me for emotional support, and bees.
#10 – Do you like to exercise or do some physical activities?
I do! I run and lift weights at the gym anywhere from 3-5 times per week. It’s helped me lose about 20-25 pounds in the past year (that’s a lot when you are short like me) and I’ve got tiny baby biceps growing.
#11 – Besides blogging what are your other hobbies?
Reading, playing other video games, watching and dissecting films and TV shows, and baking. 🙂
Questions from Sam/somebodysangel13:
#1 – What habit do you have that you would really like to break?
Okay, so…I baked these amazing coconut chocolate chip cookies earlier this week, and I CANNOT STOP EATING THEM. They are just so good! I need to get back into the habit of only eating 2-3 cookies per day, and not like 6, because I really don’t want to gain back all the weight I’ve lost. BUT THEY ARE SO DELICIOUS, AUGH.
#2 – Marvel or DC?
Uh…neither? I’m really not a fan of superheroes or comic book movies. I am a fan of mocking Jared Leto’s Joker, though. (It’s the “damaged” tattoo. I cannot take anyone with that tattoo seriously, regardless of if they are a fictional character or not.)
#3 – What wild animal would you like to have for a pet? Why?
A fox or a raccoon. Foxes are adorable and goofy, plus some folks have already raised them in captivity. Raccoons are also adorable, especially baby raccoons, plus they will eat pretty much anything. I’m also close to owning one already, because raccoons will come and play on our patio most nights, which leads to some super adorable pictures and videos. 😀
#4 – Favourite guilty pleasure?
Well, in addition to eating ALL OF THE COOKIES, I love reading Reddit Relationships. Some of the posts are just so ridiculous (“Help I cheated on my wife of 15 years but I bought her flowers and she still won’t forgive me!!! WHAT DO I DO?!”) and there are other posts where people help others out of really bad relationships, which is meaningful to me since I was once in that position myself. I also know that all these posts could be fake, but I DON’T CARE, it’s entertaining!
#5 – If you could mash up two movies together, which would they be?
Okay, this is based on another thread from Reddit – this time from AskReddit. Someone asked which movie would be most improved by casting Danny DeVito as the protagonist, and one of the answers was Mean Girls. Now I really, really want a version of Mean Girls with Danny DeVito playing Regina George. Or maybe even a mash-up with the It’s Always Sunny gang playing the Plastics, which is a movie and TV show mash-up and not two movies, but I would totally pay money to see this happen.
#6 – Do you play mobile games? If so, what’s your favourite and why?
Sort of? I can’t play Pokémon Go because my phone is too old (I know I could replace it, but it still works and I am lazy). I do love Pocket Planes by Nimblebit, which I play on my iPod touch, but I haven’t played it in a while.
#7 – If you could win an Olympic medal, what sport would it be for?
Probably one of the winter sports. I’d love to try skeleton or bobsled!
#8 – Favourite movie villain?
Oh crap I have no idea! I don’t know if I can pick just one. I guess Danny DeVito as Regina George doesn’t work because it doesn’t really exist, huh? (Plus he’d be more of an antihero anyway.)
#9 – Would you prefer to pay for a game upfront, or pay to unlock areas/content later?
Pay upfront. I hate paying money for add-ons in games!
#10 – Vanilla or chocolate?
Vanilla. A lot of chocolate makes me sick (lactose is everywhere) and I’d rather have a dessert that won’t make me sick. I ate some peanut M&Ms last week and my stomach was off for three days. 😦
#11 – Who is your least favourite sim in your story/legacy/challenge?
I love them all! If I have to pick, it would either be Josie, who grew up to be a total snot (I know, she does have the Snob trait) or Hector – he’s not a bad Sim (he’s just a toddler in posts now!) but he’s so mellow that I forget about him constantly.
I have no idea who has or hasn’t done this yet, so I’m going to look through the blogs I follow and and see who hasn’t posted this yet…
I follow way too many inactive blogs. I’m sure everyone’s already been nominated multiple times by now, because I am slow. Anyway, feel free to answer these, or not. No pressure! 😀 If you’re reading this and want to answer too, whether here in the comments or on your blog, then go ahead!
- Have you ever stopped reading a Sims legacy that wasn’t abandoned or ended by the creator? Why or why not?
- Have you been watching the Olympics? Any favourite moments?
- What are your plans for the rest of the day/night?
- Have you been playing any other video games lately?
- Have you gone on a trip recently, or are you currently planning a vacation of some sort?
- What was the last movie you saw in theatres? If it’s been too long, what was the last movie you watched in general?
- Fruit in desserts: yay or nay?
- Would you rather work a job with odd hours (e.g. night shift) and a good salary, or a job with more regular hours and lower pay?

- Do you have any niche or odd hobbies/interests? (Other than Sims legacies, of course!)
- What was the last piece of good advice someone gave you?
Thanks again for the nominations guys, and thanks for reading! 😀
