“Hmm…I wonder where Puzzle got to? The last time we hung out was before prom…”
Welcome back to the Scatterday Matriarchy! No fooling around here – it’s an update! Before we start though, a quick PSA – over at Boolprop, a bunch of us are starting a Joint Sims 3 Legacy! Looks like I’m going to be taking care of the second generation, and some other great folks are involved too. Sign-ups are closed now, but if you want to be put on the wait list in case someone needs to drop out, or if you want to follow along, check out the Boolprop thread!
Alright, back to Sims silliness now! Last time Natalie became a teenager, Manfred was the best weird kid, Mitchell was an adorable big brother, Hestia became a child, and Natalie and Mitchell had a horrid time at prom. The adults also accomplished things, I guess, but the kids are really where it’s at!
While cooking up a storm to max his Cooking skill, Angelo managed to learn enough recipes to complete a skill challenge!
Callie had a work project that involved going to a film screening, which she was all too happy to do, as it involved not doing actual work.
Honestly, it sounds like this was made for Callie.
Of course, Callie did have to deal with her adoring public…
“Oh! Ms. Scatterday! Can you smile for me?!”
“Sure! How about some peace signs? Would you like a different pose?”
It was bearable.
Manfred visited one of Bridgeport many green mucus parks after school. He’s the latest Scatterday kid to get the bug catching Opportunity – Natalie was in the middle of this when she aged up, and I’m almost positive Mitchell got it at some point – but Manfred did it in style.
“Well, a bloke has to look his best when catching bugs!”
Meanwhile, Heimrich fulfilled his LTW! That didn’t take nearly as long as I thought it would. :O
Not to be forgotten, Angelo maxed out his Athletic skill! This is the fourth skill he’s maxed, after Logic, Handiness, and Cooking.
Sadly, it would be his last accomplishment.
“Well now, what do we have here?”
“Hmm, this feels a bit odd.”
Angelo Kaplan Scatterday died at age 113 days (probably closer to 150 days, since he had the Young Again Potion and whatnot). He married the delightfully horrible Griselda Scatterday after a whirlwind courtship, and had triplets Callie, Frankie, and Josie. He was such a sweet goober of a Sim, always good-natured and kind, unlike virtually every other Sim in my game. I’m going to miss him. He’s definitely one of my favourite Sims of all time. 😦
Naturally, his death just had to be ruined by a weirdo townie kid that Manfred or Hestia brought home. I’m almost positive that this kid is the spawn of Odine Perry, based on the hair and eye colour.
“This doesn’t involve me at all, and yet I cannot look away.”
“Natalie, what’s happening to Grandpa?!”
“Hey, is an intimate family moment happening? I gotta insert myself into this!”
OH GOD WHY ARE ALL THE NEIGHBOUR KIDS WITNESSING THIS?!
“ANGELO, YOU BASTARD, YOU CAN’T DIE WITHOUT ME! HOW DARE YOU LEAVE ME HERE SURROUNDED BY IDIOTS?!”
“Hey guys, I got a promotion and…oh…bad time.”
“I’m still here!”
Thanks, Neighbour Kid, for taking up screentime that one of Angelo’s mourning relatives could have used. D:
Death took his sweet time showing up to claim Angelo. I was worried that he glitched out for a second.
Oh, there he is.
“SORRY. I HAD A BIT OF A HOLD UP – HUGE DISASTER IN TWINBROOK.”
“READY TO GO, MR. SCATTERDAY?”
“I am. I’ve had a good life, and while I’m going to miss my family, it’s time.”
“THANKS FOR MAKING THIS SO EASY, MR. SCATTERDAY. YOU’RE A GOOD LAD.”
Such a sweet goober, right up until the end. 😦
Angelo’s death didn’t really hit everyone until Death carted him away.
“THAT BASTARD, HE SAID WE’D DIE TOGETHER!”
“I….uh, I’m gonna miss him! Oh, I need to have a cry now…”
Also: GO HOME, NEIGHBOUR KID.
Manfred missed Angelo’s death because of his bug-catching. I kind of forgot about him until this pop-up too. Oops.
…at least Hestia rolled her LTW after seeing Angelo die? Creepy. 😐
Callie passed out after seeing Death, as all Cowards do, but she somehow managed to make it to another room before passing out.
“I didn’t want to scare the neighbour kids…”
They just saw the Grim Reaper. I think they can handle an unconscious woman.
Condolence gifts poured in after the night’s tragic events.
This broke my heart. Griselda slept alone for the first time since she was a teenager. 😦
“I love you so much Heimie!”
“I love you too, Sweetheart. Let’s stick together until the end, okay?”
“Deal! I don’t ever want to be alone…”
This seems inappropriate, given what just happened to the family, but hey, what do I know about dealing with the death of someone I’m super close to?*
*- NOTHING AND IT BETTER REMAIN THAT WAY FOR A LONG ASS TIME
Mitchell was also MIA during Angelo’s demise. I don’t know where he was, or what he was up to, but I found him passed out in the foyer in his underpants at 4 am.
He’s certainly not impressing anyone by passing out in his underpants.
Griselda rose early the next morning, for she had to attend to an important task.
Griselda purchased a small plot of land near the Bridgeport cemetery, and turned it into a family burial plot. Assuming the Scatterdays stay in Bridgeport until the end of the legacy, there should be room for everyone. Everyone gets flowers in their favourite colours, or the closest to their favourite colours that I can find.
(I also went back and fixed that missing fence piece. My building skills know no bounds!)
“YOU BASTARD. I NEVER LOVED YOU! …okay, that’s a lie, I always loved you. I’m just really pissed off.”
On a lighter note, Manfred becomes a teenager today!
THIS ISN’T HELPING YOU WITH YOUR GRADUATION, MITCHELL.
Mitchell eventually made his way to school, and Callie settled in for some relaxation on her day off.
“I did some good parenting! …threatening to WooHoo very loudly in the bathroom closest to my delinquent son’s room counts as good parenting, right?”
I say it does. Of course, I don’t have kids, so who knows?
Callie grew bored of daytime TV, and as she needed some Writing skill for her next promotion, she decided to channel her grief into a new Humour novel.
Griselda also started a new novel, which was much classier than Callie’s novel.
Natalie dealt with her grief by breaking the hot tub.
“…maybe I should have joined an after-school activity instead. I’ll never hot tub again!”
Natalie gave up on relaxing in the traditional way, and instead opted to play with her synthesizer.
“In a West End town, a dead end world…
The East End boys and West End girls…
West End girls…”
However, she cut her song short when an old friend showed up.
“I got stuck in your inventory. I managed to escape when you put away your synth.”
“Oh Nat! I’m so sorry! Let me give you a hug.”
“Thanks, Puzz. I….I’m glad you’re back. I really need someone now…”
“I’m so sorry I haven’t been around, Nat. Is everyone else okay? How’s your Dad?”
“Heh, Dad’s more relaxed now that I’m a teenager, but he’s still pretty out there. He had a total freakout when Grandpa died! I didn’t know how Mom and Grandma dealt.”
“I feel awful about getting stuck, Nat. Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?”
“Well…maybe one thing…”
“…is this what I think it is?”
“Yup. Grandpa made it years ago, and he tried to give it to me when we were small but…I was dumb, and I didn’t take it. Drink it, and we’re even.”
“Alright, here goes nothing…”
“Aww, you can do it, Puzz! Grandpa would be so happy if he knew what you were doing! You’re already starting to sparkle…”
“Hey, I never noticed how cute your brother was…”
“That’s fuckin’ gross, Puzz.”
Yeah I’m putting a stop to this RIGHT NOW.
“…this is taking a long time.”
“It’s a complicated process, Nat. What’s wrong with liking your brother, anyway? He’s not much to look at, but he is sweet with Manfred and Hestia…”
“I said it’s FUCKIN’ GROSS, Puzz.”
“This is really happening, right?”
“Yup. I’m a real Sim now!”
“I can’t believe! It’s you! I can hug you, and you’re not a doll!”
“Haha, hug away!”
NO GO AWAY
IT IS FORBIDDEN
Yup, Natalie’s Imaginary Friend, Puzzle, is now real! I had to wait for a free house slot to open up before she could be made real, and sadly Angelo died before I could boot Mitchell out of the house. Puzzle Scatterday is a Hot-Headed, Family-Oriented, Never-Nude Snob. She likes Kids music, Tri-Tip Tofu Steak, and the colour Black. Her Zodiac is Capricorn, which I believe is the same as Natalie’s.
Now that Puzzle is real, she and Natalie can….uh…
Well…I guess when one partner makes the other partner real…they are meant to be.
By the way…I started using the randomize gender preference thingie in MasterController…and Natalie randomized as gay, while Puzzle randomized as bi (hence the disturbing Mitchell heartfarting).
We interrupt this heartfelt moment between two teenage girls to bring you an a birthday!
“I’m going to be tall!”
“Hurry this up, kid. I want to like being around you.”
“Whoa, where did these….hand things…come from?!”
“Yay, good job son! I will now enjoy spending time with you!”
Here’s a close-up of teenage Manfred’s face. He’s pretty much a clone of Callie, save for Heimrich’s eye colour. He kind of looks like a Sim version of Kyle from Party Down.
His new trait is Nurturing.
Like Mitchell, Manfred also inherited his dad’s muscle mass. Heimrich’s gift to the legacy, indeed.
Anyway, back to equally as important things!
“So, um. Puzzle, I was wondering….well, maybe a bit later, ’cause Grandpa did just die…”
“What are you thinking of, Nat?”
“Well…do you want to maybe….kiss me?”
“Uh…yeah, but…maybe later…I did just become real, Nat…”
“But…but I made you real…I thought we could be together!”
“We are together, Nat. Just…everything is so new to me now. I need some time to adjust to it…”
This is a moodlet I hoped I’d never see. 😦
Also, Natalie seems surprisingly calm for someone with a life that appears to be rapidly falling apart.
“Nat, I’m sorry, but…we could hug again?”
“Ugh, just leave me alone, Puzzle. I…I need to think about this…”
“Just leave me be!”
I’m going to be evil and end the chapter here. But before we go, a bit of silliness from around Bridgeport:
Josie has been incredibly quiet since the move, but she did try to set things on fire! Something tells me that Josie doesn’t have a lot friends.
Anyway, that’s it for this round of the Scatterday Matriarchy! Thanks for reading, and happy Simming! 🙂
