Hello, lovely readers! Welcome back to the Scatterday Matriarchy! Before I start this post, I have a few things I’d like to say. First, I’m sorry there was a bit of a delay between this post and last post. I was somehow super busy doing stuff offline with family, friends, and my boyfriend. Second, my blog reached a milestone! I’ve had over 700 page views since starting this legacy! Hooray! I was going to take a screencap at 500, but then my views shot up a lot during the past few days. Thank you to everyone who’s read, commented, and given shout-outs so far, especially the lovely JaneEyreForce who writes the Darroch Legacy, which you should read as it is at least three hundred kinds of awesome. Here’s to another 700 views!
Now, let’s see what the family is up to now…
“Hey George, guess what wish I just rolled?”
“…WooHoo with me?”
“Great! I rolled that too!”
“Shall we…retire to the bedroom?”
Ainsley and George still love going at it.
Even though he’s afflicted by a game glitch that won’t let him marry, Zhan is thrilled about Auden’s pregnancy. He rolled this wish shortly after she announced it to him.
(I’ve yet to try the suggestions left in last update’s comments because I’m about six updates worth of photos ahead in gameplay, so I’m not opening my game until I’ve mostly caught up!)
“Augh! Dad! What are you doing in our room?”
“Sorry, honey! I just really have to pee.”
“We have ANOTHER bathroom that ISN’T attached to this room for that!”
“No, I need this toilet!”
Five seconds later…
“Don’t mind me, kids! Just gotta use the washroom!”
“MOM WHAT THE HELL, IT’S LATE. GET OUT OF HERE!”
“zzz….I should learn more about flags…zzzz….”
Boundaries. Ainsley and George have none.
Alicia got a new job that is the same job as the job she had when she moved out of the house. Maybe she had to quit when she had Homer? Maybe she was canned for being late all the time? Who knows!
Zhan sings Chinese songs when he showers, which is really cute! Unfortunately, his legs don’t seem to be bending the way legs usually bend. He looks like he’s standing on a pair of noodles.
Meanwhile, since she’s still in the legacy house, Aurora half-assedly tries to make progress on her LTW.
“Thanks for playing chess with me, Dad.”
“No problem, dear! Now…which one is the horse guy supposed to be again?”
Remember Quintin, the weird blonde kid Aurora and Auden brought home from school a couple times? Well, guess who made himself an enemy?
“Man, Shen, do you ever think that this place is too good for us? I mean, Goopy Carbonara all the time…I feel like some day we’ll be kicked out!”
“Dude, stop overthinking. You’re making your eyes cross.”
“Ha! See! I was right! The Goopy Carbonara went bad as soon as we sat down! This place is too good to be true! Guess I’ll have leftover pie for dinner, then…”
“Auden, wanna talk some sense into your fiancé there?”
“Nah, but when he’s done freaking out I have a baby book he should read.”
The next morning, Zhan became a hero!
Shen was also handsomely rewarded.
Zhan celebrated his promotion by leaving work after earning a whopping $7, then dumpster diving.
“A Utensil Holder?”
“Pfft! You can’t eat that. And I’m starving. I was hoping for some Goopy Carbonara…”
In less humiliating news, Ainsley earned another snazzy skill plaque! She and George are about even now.
Also, THIS is still happening.
“Morning, Zhan. Whatcha reading?”
“One of the baby books Auden picked up. I think it’s called Baby Incoming: Preparing with Vigilance. Pretty wicked stuff. I’m just reading about the traditional uses of the placenta now. It’s….ugh….oh dear…”
“Under no circumstances will you or Auden consume the baby’s placenta in my house.”
Auden sold a couple of paintings, which helped save up enough cash for a crib, which she and Zhan were wishing for. Zhan completely approves.
Meanwhile, after getting a pop-up about little Homer growing into a toddler, Ainsley decided to get to know her first grandchild.
“Hi Alicia! Where’s little Homer? I was hoping he and I could spend the afternoon bonding!”
“Oh, him? I think he’s in the doorway.”
“Yes, baby! Grandma Ainsley came to say hi! Can you say hi to her?”
The meeting was a little underwhelming, judging from everyone’s facial expressions. Homer is a cutie, though!
Ainsley eventually had to hand him over when she left. Here you can see how much Homer favours Alicia, though I think he got his blue eyes from his dad.
Alicia also confirmed that Ainsley and George are still considered eternally faithful. Thanks, Alicia!
Back at home, things were also uneventful.
“So, Shen, as we’re basically siblings-in-law, I think we should get to know each other. Let’s start by telling each other one thing about ourselves. I’m artistic! What is something about you?”
“This is horribly awkward but…fine. I want to become an astronaut.”
The awkward get-to-know-you session also included some incredibly scandalous gossip.
Then it was video games time!
“Wow, excellent performance on that level, George! I can’t believe you clawed your way back up from seventh place after falling into that lava!”
“Ah yes, Mario Kart is a fickle mistress. The spiky shell and the lightning bolt helped too, though!”
“Hello? Why, Geb Hawas! How are you? Discover any new mummies lately?….Uh huh…uh huh….wow! Me? Oh, uh, I’m just having a baby….no biggie.”
“Shen, I hate to drag you away from the Mario Kart tournament you and Dad were having, but we need to talk.”
“See…. here’s the thing…I like you. You’re like the cloud that shields me from the vagaries of the sun.”
“Uh…shouldn’t that be ‘You are my sunshine’ or something?”
“Not when you hate the outdoors.”
“HEY AUDEN HAVE I EVER TOLD YOU THAT MY FAVOURITE COLOUR IS IRISH GREEN?! YES IT IS A WONDERFUL COLOUR AND…”
“Dad, are you going to get all weird and loud whenever one of your daughters expresses sexual or romantic interest in a person?”
“I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT. NOW, AS FOR IRISH GREEN….”
“Hey, Ainsley. Are we still working our way through the leftover pile?”
“You know it!”
“Fine Dad, I’ll play along. My favourite colour is orange. I don’t know why I like it, but I do.”
“OH WOW ORANGE AND IRISH GREEN ARE QUITE A COMBINATION SAY THEY WOULD REALLY CLASH RIGHT….”
“Dad, you can stop. Aurora and Shen aren’t flirting anymore.”
“Oh good. It’s just so awkward watching your kids shamlessly flirt in front of you.”
Shen was so excited about Aurora finally flirting with him that he peed his pants in Zhan and Auden’s room.
Actually, I think it was because someone kicked him out of the bathroom (George perhaps?), but he was still excited about the flirty business.
“You’re getting so big! I can’t believe we’re going to be parents soon! Have you had any ideas for names?”
“Well, I thought it would be nice to name our kids after characters from my mom’s books, if you’re okay with it.”
“Of course! Your mom’s written some awesome stuff! Which names were you thinking of?”
“Well, I came up with two boy names and two girl names, in case we have twins. For boys, I was thinking of Cornelius, after Captain Cornelius Crumplebottom in The Treadmills of War, and Reginald after Reginald Starberger from The Silicon Dynasty. For girls, I was thinking of Hortense after Hannah Jones’ beloved nanny from Poppin’ Some Tags, even though that was a biography and not a fictional work, and Griselda, after the heiress Griselda Marlbank in The Silicon Dynasty. Are you okay with those names?”
“Sure! I couldn’t think of any myself, so I’m glad you covered all the bases!”
“Well, I thought it would be for the best! Now, my back is hurting, so I think I’ll take a trip to the day spa for a nice, relaxing massage!”
(I also like how George is kind of hovering approvingly in the background. Hee!)
Uh, Auden, why are you leaving the day spa early?
“Ooooh nooooo. The baby! It’s coming! Oh hell. FUCK. FUCK FUCK FUCK.”
“OH CRAP! I’ll miss the new episode of Cookin’ Franks with Frank at this rate! Stupid baby!”
Rest assured that Auden wasn’t alone when she went into labour. Bennie happened to show up right as she left the day spa.
“Bennie! Thank goodness! I just went into labour and I need a ride to the hospital so the baby can pop out before my TV shows start…”
“No problem, kiddo! Just one thing I gotta take care of first…”
“Yeah…on second thought, the contractions have stopped so I think I can drive myself to the hospital, thanks.”
“Fine. I’ll just sit here and pout. SORRY I TRIED TO HELP YOU, AUDEN!”
It just wouldn’t be a proper Scatterday labour without one of the menfolk flipping out, then sulking when their flipping out doesn’t solve the problem.
“Zhan, I just got a text from Bennie! Auden went into labour while she was at the Day Spa!”
“Oh. Wow. So…”
“SO GO TO THE HOSPITAL AND BE WITH HER, YOU IDIOT!”
Some other members of the extended Scatterday clan came to help Auden at the hospital! Dean showed up, as did Alicia’s baby daddy Sherman London!
“Hey guys, any news about Auden?”
“That’s why we’re reading to pass the time!”
“Also, way to be on time to your kid’s birth, Zhan!”
A few hours later, Auden emerged with a little boy named Cornelius.
“Wow, Dean, thanks for showing up.”
“No problem, baby sis.”
….and just after that, Zhan emerged with another baby boy named Reginald.
This is when I wanted to throw my computer across the room and punch Auden. MATRIARCHY, AUDEN. WE NEED GIRLS HERE!
Another crib was purchased, and they were decorated to suit the twins’ tastes. This crib is for Cornelius. His traits are Excitable and Couch Potato. Master Controller also tells me that he has Pyromaniac, Asian Culture, and Can Apprehend Burglar as hidden traits. His favourites are Dim Sum, French Music, and Orange. He is a Sagittarius.
This is Reginald’s crib. His traits are Excitable and Friendly, and he has the same hidden traits as Cornelius. His favourites are Vegetarian Fish and Chips, Latin Music, and the colour pink. His Zodiac sign is Gemini.
The younger twins’ favourite colours being the same as Auden and Aurora’s was incredibly convenient, as I could just plunk their cribs in their old bedroom without redecorating.
Also, funnily enough, Cornelius and Reginald weren’t the only twins born in Riverview that night! IT’S NOT FAIR. WHY DID THE TOWNIE FAMILY HAVE TWIN GIRLS?!
Auden’s “Get Married” wish is killing me. I’ve played very, very far ahead in my game, so I haven’t been able to try the fixes suggested last post to get Auden and Zhan married.
Her wishes to photograph her sons, however, are adorable.
“Wow, my new nephews! Hello, Reginald! Aren’t you cute! And isn’t your taste in colour awesome?!”
Aurora already has a favourite.
“I’m glad you guys can reuse Auden and Aurora’s old bedroom for a nursery!”
“Yep. It’s turned out nicely! I hope the boys will like it.”
“Hmm….what’s that smell?”
“Uh…oh dear. I think it’s time for the first diaper change.”
After said diaper change…
“Oh Auden, it was awful! I just…WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN THEY START EATING SOLID FOODS?!”
“Shhh….shh….Zhan, it’s going to be okay. We can foist diaper duty off on my parents for a while.”
“Oh okay. I love you more than a chicken drumstick!”
“And I love you more than a hearty bowl of Stu Surprise!”
“I’m just so happy! I love our boys! I love you! I just wish we could get married…”
“I know, Zhan. Apparently there’s something called a ‘glitch’ that someone needs to look into, but it could be a while…”
“Hmm…maybe if I look really cute, then someone will do something about it!”
Curse your adorable face, Zhan!
George and Ainsley have been much more competent with babies this time around. They respond to the boys’ crying right away.
“What do you need, Reg? Food? A diaper change? Cuddles?”
“Hush, little Cornelius, it’ll be fine. You’re all full and your diaper is clean, so you can go to sleep now!”
“Well, guess you don’t want to sleep, huh? Well then, come along. My cooking shows are about to start…”
I think this is a good place to end this entry. Thank you for reading! Hopefully next chapter will be out soon! Now to scuttle off and respond to comments that I’ve neglected so far…
